Sitting on the roof
It was almost midday, the sun was shinning full on, almost at it's peak, looking at me, focusing at me. The heat spread, like an oven, burning the back of your neck constantly, making it moist with sweat. Like a magnifying glass on an ant, burning, interrupted only by a sparse blowing of the cool breeze. You could also hear the noise of the ventilation system doing it's thing behind you, like a fan. Ahead of you you could hear and see the construction site of a condo. The drilling and hammering, the beeping noise of alarms. Every now and then you could hear a high pitched noise, probably metal, like a cat grinding it's claws through a blackboard.
Elevator noises
The beeping noise of the buttons Being clicked to go up and down floors The clacking noise of my friend's pen As it slip through the gaps of the doors
What was my intention behind each poem
My first poem, Poetry, was made to show my feelings regarding poetry, and what I think about it. My second poem, Sitting on the roof, was really just me writing down what I felt as I sat down, It was a written record of my feelings at that moment. My third poem, Elevator noises, was written with two things in mind: One, I tried to write something that had a rhythm to it and sounded nice. Two, I wanted to write something that was describing what happened in the lift as I took it up and down, from the first to the tenth floor a bunch of times
