Choose a random passage (about 40 lines) from your novel and try to explain how the protagonist is brought to life in your imagination using the Characterisation Techniques Worksheet. I have attached the worksheet and the class presentation we explored today. Please include your response in your e-portfolio under a subsection called, Characterisation.
It should take you about 20 minutes to find a passage and complete the worksheet.
It should take you a further 10 minutes to write a paragraph explaining how the protagonist is brought to life in your imagination, using the evidence you gave collected on your worksheet.
Passage: page 31 from first line to line 33
response:
the character is brought to life in my imagination by many ways. Firstly, his dialogue helps me understand what he is going through, and explain his situation, like whe he explains that he has telepathy for example. His thoughts also play a big part, as they are the majority of the book. In that passage, his thoughts show us how he is scared and how he understands the situation. He is also aware that this is dangerous, and therefore he has to keep it a secret. His actions show that he is also a bit intimidated maybe, as he doesn't do much in this sequence. His actions do show that he is now going to keep this a secret, as it is much more serious that he though.
