I have attached the notes we covered in class today. This home work should take about 30 mins
Point of view - protagonist, 1st person narrative Narration - 1st person perspective, speaking to an imaginary audience Speech - dialogue, framed narrative, we can hear the protagonist (and other peoples) thoughts Tense - past tense
1- they allow me to get to know the protagonist better, since we can hear his thoughts and we see the world through his eyes. It allows us to understand him better and to connect more with him, to sympathise with him. 2- because the main character can communicate telepathically, we get to know what happens in other places as well, such as when they are being chased and a Friend keeps them informed as to where the search party is, but usually we see the action as seen by the protagonist, and we usually also experience it as the protagonist experiences it. 3- they combine together because since the protagonist is the one narrating the story, he can describe his own feelings and thoughts, but through dialogue we can also see how other people view the situation. Also, because of the telepathy in the story, we can get a glimpse of the feelings and thoughts of other people, even though it's is much less and only at certain points, we still get a quick glimpse at their perspective and how they see the world
